Story: The rat is the first of all zodiac animals and is seen as a sign of wealth and surplus. Shiraz is synonymous with Australia and this Year of the Rat Shiraz has been sourced from quality South Australian vineyards.
Vintage: The 2018 growing season started slowly, but warmer weather eventually helped to speed things up. Fruit set throughout the region was good and the low rainfall and warm weather from January to April resulted in great sugar development, while a cooler than average March offered ideal night temperatures for colour and flavour development.
Nose: The nose is vibrant and fruit forward with plums, blackberries and cherries with a touch of spice.
Palate: The palate offers lively notes of juicy plums, and red cherries, followed by soft tannins.
Pairing: This Shiraz is the perfect wine for any time of the year – from summer barbeques to lazy winter nights in front of the fire!
Cellaring: Drink now to 2026
