PROFESSIONAL REVIEWS
2023 LuLu Sauvignon Blanc
Adelaide Hills
93 points- Fresh and vibrant, the inviting bouquet shows green apple, fresh herb, nectarine and lime zest aromas, followed by a flavoursome palate offering excellent fruit power and persistency, finishing lively and racy. At its best: now to 2026- Sam Kim; WineOrbit.co.nz – August 2023 .
90 points -The 2023 vintage saw fruit from high altitude Adelaide Hills vineyards harvested several weeks later than usual, all contributing to the elegance and freshness of the wine. Free run juice only, and from a single vineyard, this was bottled as soon as it was settled in stainless steel tanks – the team have also moved to lightweight bottles. A very pale lemon hue. There are good aromatics here. Some appealing gooseberry notes but also juicy, tropical touches, especially passionfruit. Attractive, still very young and with the hint of a chalky, minerally backing supported by a fine line of razor-sharp acidity with decent length. Enjoy now and over the next three years. – Ken Gargett; WinePilot.com – September 2023.
90 points- Named after winemaker Dean’s wife Louise (Lu Lu). No preservatives in the vineyard or winemaking process, only the minimum at bottling. Bright straw colour in the glass. Rich and fragrant with lemon drop citrus, fresh asparagus, feijoa, raspberry leaf, wet grass and near powder puff talc nuances. Neatly flavoured with some citrus generosity and mouth-watering acidity. Missing a little intensity and drive, but clean and zesty. – Regan Drew, WinePilot.com – December 2023.
90 points- Comes from one of the higher points of the Adelaide Hills. The wine has a crunchy gooseberry and passionfruit aroma which flows effortlessly through to the palate. Crisp with a racy acidity mouthwatering acidity with a squeeze of lemon. It’s designed as a drink now wine with lots of fun. – Ray Jordan, WinePilot.com – March 2024.
