Description

Opening with complex with bright red strawberries, savoury forest floor, fragrant spice and oak toast. Silky and ethereal with beautiful shape, flow and balance. There is great purity and elegance in the delicate, red and black berry fruits that are supported by florals and briar spice. The finish is long and memorable.

2017 was an exceptional year. A classic Yarra Valley growing season, a wet spring followed by moderate daily temperatures and cool nights. Perfectly bal- anced vines allowed the grapes to ripen in optimal conditions. In these years, the pristine fruit flavours combined with intensity and power give the wine bal- ance and longevity.

Handpicked and destemmed, the must was cold-soaked for 5 days prior to fermentation. Hand plunged twice daily then gently pressed to puncheons. The barrel selection is critical in these elegant years.

PROFESSIONAL REVIEWS

  • 92/100 Points by NICK BUTLER – THE REAL REVIEW: Dark red cherry colour, youthful and bright. Concentrated bouquet with loads of charm – black cherries, dark spices, toasty oak. The palate is supple and accessible, even a little sweet-fruited, tempered by tannins and acidity that drive its length. Excellent winemaking.
